Vibe
Calm, walkable, university-town feel. The hostel scene splits between party, social, and quiet options for Spanish-school stays. Plaza fills at sunset and empties by 10pm.

White walls, cheap almuerzos, and a pace that makes La Paz feel like another country. Sucre is Bolivia's judicial capital at 2,800 m, the country's budget Spanish-immersion base and a common rest stop after the Altiplano. Compact colonial center around Plaza 25 de Mayo. Reviews split sharply: some travelers call it their Bolivia highlight for the calm and the food prices, others find it sleepy after La Paz. Two to seven days depending on whether you're learning Spanish.
